Budgetproof FAB5 restaurants

So let's get started with one of my favourite subjects, Food! It is one of those things in life you can  not do without, so why not enjoy it while you're at it. Although i can really enjoy a home cooked meal, i also love to go out for a bite. But hey, let's be honest, nowadays it is not always as affordable as we like. But having a tight budget, doesn't mean you have to settle for a "ah it will do" meal.

So here you go! My 5 fav budgetproof restaurants.

#1 Vapiano
Vapiano is a pasta and pizza bar based in 26 countries. The pasta and pizza dough is made freshly everyday and your order is taken directly by the chef and made in front of you. On each table there is a small herbgarden to create your own taste.

Prices for a pastadish or pizza vary from about € 6,- to € 10,- , but check out the website for the prices in your local currency. My favourite is Scampy e Spinaci with Linguini... mmmmm..
#2 Wagamama
A Japanese restaurant and noodle bar. Opened its first restaurant in London in 1992 and is now located in 17 countries, mainly in Europe. They work with fresh ingredients and every dish is made upon order. So your meal is served steaming hot at your table.

Which dishes tickle my tastebuts? The Yaki Udon noodles (udon noodles with chicken, shrimp, egg, red pepper, onion and spring onion) and the Edamame (steamed soybeans with salt and garlic)
#3 Restaurant Bonjardim " Rei dos Frangos"
Anyone who knows me, knows i love chicken. So the " Rei dos Frangos" , " The king of chicken" can not be in absence of my Fab5 list. You'll have to take a trip to Lisbon, Portugal for a oh so yummy roasted chicken from this restaurant. But if you are coincidentally in the neighbourhood why not do a little stopover for a good priced meal.
Restaurant Bonjardim is located at the Travessa de S.Antao 11. To be honest it is not the most  appealing places to have dinner, but aren't those usually the best ones?! Given the fact that the place is packed with Portuguese people is always a good sign.
I cannot tell you stories about fresh meals made in front of you, cause i simply don't know and maybe i don't want to know. They do not have a nifty website about their many franchises. Just want to tell you if you are in Lisbon and like chicken as much as i do, then please stop by this lovely family restaurant.
#4 Burgerbar, Amsterdam

This is for the Dutchies amongst us or anyone who is going to visit Amsterdam in my lovely Netherlands.

If you are on a strict carb free diet or any diet for that matter, you can skip my #4.  :)
The burgerbar is a place to have a quick bite if you're in a hurry or want to catch a movie just across the street. And hey, how surprising they serve burgers. You have a wide range of burgers. Varying from a Irish beef burger to a Wagyu beef burger. Even the veggies can have a nibble on the Portobello burger. Topping is to your own taste. I like mine with some cheese, mushrooms and onions. But if you feel the need to spice it up a bit, Jalapenos are an option too.

Oh yeah.... you can not have the burger without the homemade fries. I'm getting hungry while thinking about it.... sigh....

#5 Any Pastisseria / Cafetería in Barcelona

And last but not least my #5.
Not a particular restaurant, but more a must do in one of my favourite cities in Europe.... Barcelona, Spain. The land of the Tapas, Paella, Jamon Serrano and so much more.

A good breakfast is essential to kick start your day. As i am not a big eater in the morning, a big buffet in the hotel is not well spend on me. Much more fun and enjoyable is to have a cup of coffee or tea, accompanied with a sandwich or sweet pastry at one of the Pastisseria / Cafetería that Barcelona has to offer. Not only is it much cheaper then a breakfast at a hotel, you are also surrounded by local people off to work or school. So good opportunity to hang with the locals.

Want an example...?

El Mos at the carrer d'estruc near Placa Catalunya.

Et voila! That is my top5 for now. And i emphasize "for now". These are at least the ones who came to mind at first when i started thinking about a top5. Which should mean they made an impression on me.

Eet smakelijk, Bon appetit, Buen provecho!
